A Brief Thought on the End of the World
Reflecting a lot lately on my Mayan Calendar obsessive phase in college.
I read so. Many. Books.
The "end of the world" thing is how entertainment simplifies and commodifies one of the most sacred and wisest teachings we have as a species. Like coke from coca leaves. Marlboro from tobacco. Hershey's from cacao. We love to contort and destroy a good thing, settling for the repackaged and sensationalized parts, because humans are young and we love immediacy.
The ancient Greek translation of "apocalypse" is a disclosure of knowledge, an uncovering, or a revelation. I want to keep seeking.
