Aquarius Roundhouse Kick In The Face Full Moon Loves You
Hands out. Be quiet. Listen. Despite the moon being full and luminous, the viewpoint of the mind is dark and dizzying. Using all of your senses, you can hopefully navigate without running into anything. Reminds me of what the priest said in Romeo + Juliet: “wisely and slow- they that run fast stumble.”
Here’s a big one to remember right now: we are each artists, crafting the world around us with each and every step, word, action, breath, idea, or thought. This is true regardless of how intentional we are. What occupies our mind creates our personal dimension. Imagine that you are a lake. Are you skipping meditative stones? Are you cleaning out fallen leaves regularly? Or are you blindfolded and riding a flaming motorcycle while holding buckets of toxic sludge? Plot twist: the lake is everyone. We are each our own individual droplet selves, made one through the action of existing. We are all Jonah. We are all the whale. There is no escape. Yeah, sorry. But also congratulations, because this is, in reality, a complete miracle. Being alive, what a trip.
I don’t personally believe in any traditional Christian ideals of heaven and hell after death. I believe that these realms of positive and negative feedback happens all around us, in the here and now. How we walk through the world determines how we exist within it, and how we are effected. And how we effect, too! Remember the lake? How you treat yourself is how you treat everyone is how you treat all things. Forever and ever into infinity.
If you are finding yourself in the midst of a relationship, friendship, line of work, or other situation that gives you unceasing anxiety or pushes you to anger, you’re going to need to either consider how to change your viewpoint and heal the environment around you - or leave. Reinvention is but one facet of reality. It’s not just an option, it’s a responsibility. Dr. Maya Angelou famously said, “when people show you who they are, believe them.” The same rule goes for all things - situations included - particularly those that make your heart feel like it’s in a meat grinder. Do yourself a solid and back away. After all, things tend to make more sense from a distance anyhow. No pressure or anything, but figure it out ASAP, because your life depends on it. I find myself thinking “we’re all going to die,” on a regular basis, which after reading Attached indicates directly to my anxious attachment style (read it, learn it, live it - and don’t you dare go to Amazon, you haul ass straight to your local bookstore, you hear me). However, I’ve shortened it to a simple mental YOLO because why waste time doing anything that is sucking away completely invaluable moments of such a precious gift? Maybe we live more than once. Who knows. But the here and now deserves more respect than any hypothetical Ancient-Aliens “maybe” could possibly offer.
Recently I started taking pole dancing classes. I’ve only gone to two so far, but the point has been made clear already that pain is part of the process. I have bruises around my knees and ankles from climbing. The morning after class, I feel sore in a way I didn’t think was possible. My ribs hurt. The space between my ribs hurt. My hip joints are begging me to stretch more consciously and regularly. I’m in love with this entire process, because each sore spot and call from my body is a little love letter to my growth, and dedication to this new curiosity. None of this is comfortable right now, but it will lead to something new, creative, community oriented and engaging. It already is! I guess that’s what happens when you put time into your desires.
Want to know the best ever gift you could give yourself right now?
BREATH.
Entirely free of charge, no packaging required, and delivered just as fast as you ordered it. Air is an all-you-can-eat-buffet of relaxation, coming with an automatic side of extra time. In a single intentional breath, you can give yourself a few seconds that may have not existed before. I mean - yes, they of course were there - are there - but to dose moments like pills is to literally internalize the freedom of time. And that’s a kind of magic.
GOOD LUCK. I believe in you.
