EQUITY INFORMED
Equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances in their lives, allowing flexibility around the distribution of resources and opportunities in order to reach an equal, beneficial outcome for all. Being an equity informed business means taking into account the various social, economic, and personal factors that can affect the way different people can experience and attain necessities and goods. By taking these factors into account, SUNMOON strives to offer accessible goods to all patrons, regardless of background or financial standing, creating a more inclusive environment and effectively pushing back on the current system of capitalistic oppression. Skincare should not be a luxury. Care of self should not be reserved for the wealthy. In practicing equity-informed exchange, the patron is considered as well as the history of healing practices, the cultures we are infinitely indebted to, and the earth itself.

OTHER WAYS IN WHICH SUNMOON PROVIDES AN EQUITABLE BUSINESS MODEL:
Creating products good for more than one single function. When a single product can be utilized in multiple ways, such as a multi-use wash or clay blend, it allows them to be stretched farther and used more broadly, as opposed to products that are only made to be used for specifics. Though these targeted products can be useful, they usually are based upon a buy-more model which does not reflect holistic, ethical, or equitable values.
Using reusable and recyclable product packaging, rather than single use plastics or other items which only end up in a landfill, and/or leeching into our shared living space. Equity must include the longevity and care of each other as well as the planet.
Perfectionism is a value of capitalism. Flexibility in accessible/sustainable ingredients, as well as labels and packaging is far more important than consistency when it contributes to an equitable model, as well as continuing to provide an excellent product.
