Welcome to the season of sudden change, leaps of faith, level ups and worldchanging breakthroughs. Gemini, the cosmic twins, the two-in-one, guides us upwards at this time. Our elevation and illumination requires us to ground in our knowing and, despite our fears, to look up. To ascend. A powerful way to begin the journey is to become freshly familiar with our divine physical selves. To introduce through touch, and to heal.

So many of us love argan oil, but too few of us know of Dr Zoubida Charrouf, an important person in this plants recent story. She has dedicated her adult life to its preservation. As we use this resource, the liquid life force of the argan tree, we would do well to also pay tribute in our hearts to Dr. Charrouf, as well as the many unknown who have tended the land for so long, and continue to work to make this precious oil accessible.

As the year has continued to unfold, we find ourselves cradled by the dark sky once more, in the final embrace of the New Moon of 2020. We have been taught through the various lunations of the year how to go inwards and seek our own internal compass. The dark expanse of wisdom beneath is waiting for us. It is us.

As we peer into its starry abyss, we are given the chance to challenge our own idea of strength - to ask a little more, stretch a little deeper, roar a little louder.

The August full moon goes by several names, such as the Green Corn Moon, and the Full Sturgeon Moon - named for the large fish that once fed so many during this time of year. The typical lifespan of a sturgeon is 55 years - some aging well past 100. If this sacred swimmer has anything to tell us, it's message reflects that of Corn - to go slow to grow.

Like the Emperor, our tarot card of 2020, lavender too is here to show support through serene strength and grace. It is resistant to weather extremes, and casually continues to grow in soil too burdensome for other plants to survive in. Lavender also returns every spring without much coaxing. It wants to be here, and reminds us that we have a purpose in being here too. Lavender says that simply existing can sometimes be enough.

Reestablishing the ground on which we stand can be difficult when we're still standing on it. There's a part of us that wants things to just stay easy. But as witches, we know better. We can recognize this as a Divine opportunity. A challenge to face, and an answer to call. We invite you to create an Altar to recognize this moment of necessary balance, and support the world in discovering its center as well as our own. After all, magic begins within and works its way outwards.

Feel these words: your body is sacred. It is our first and final sanctuary, and deserves recognition, worship, and care. How are you offering loving space to your original home? The ways in which we treat our unique and beautiful forms have deep and lasting effects, on the physical, emotional, and spiritual levels alike. To accept is to heal, and to change is to heal. Both are necessary when sitting with and listening for the quiet wisdom within our blood and bones, amplified during this lunar event.
